ELIGIBILITY:

Piano/String:  Ages - E to G.

Vocal Music:  Ages - J to G.

AGE CATEGORIES:

Ages - E1: Born between April 1st, 2010 ~ March 31st, 2012.

            E2: Born between April 1st, 2008 ~ March 31st, 2010.

            E3: Born between April 1st, 2006 ~ March 31st, 2008.

 

Age - J :   Born between April 1st, 2003 ~ March 31st, 2006.

 

Age - H:  Born between April 1st, 2000 ~ March 31st, 2003.

 

Age - U:  Born before March 31st, 2000 or currently in

                 College/University/Post-graduate. 

 

Age - G:  For those who graduated from any University/

                 Post-graduate program. No age limit. 

 

 

REPERTOIRE FOR PIANO:

(Note: Please note that piece(s)/movement(s) chosen for the Final Round should NOT be the same as the piece(s)/movements(s) chosen for the Regional Round in all instruments and Age categories listed below. The pieces need to be played by memory. A set piece must be performed in order. If the contestants play specific movement(s) or excerpt(s) from a suite/variation, those must be specified in the application form.) 

 

Ages - E1 to E3:  

For Regional Round in Kuala Lumpur

(Approximate Duration 4 minutes)

1) A piece or a movement from the Baroque period ( ~1750) OR an Etude chosen by the contestant.

2) A piece chosen by the contestant. (Including movement(s) from a sonata or suite).   

 

For Final Round in Osaka

(Approximate Duration 5 minutes)

1) A piece chosen by the contestant. (Must be different from the piece for the regional round. Different movement or a piece from the same opus number is NOT acceptable.)

For Final Round in Osaka

(Approximate Duration 7 minutes)

1) A piece chosen by the contestant. (Must be different from the piece for the regional round. Different movement or a piece from the same opus number is NOT acceptable.)

1) A Prelude and Fugue from J.S.BACH's Well-Tempered Clavier Book I, II OR an Etude by CHOPIN, DEBUSSY, SCRIABIN, RACHMANINOFF, PROKOFIEV or LISZT.

 2) A piece chosen by the contestant. (Including movement(s) from a sonata or suite)

 

For Final Round in Osaka

(Approximate Duration 8 minutes)

1) A piece chosen by the contestant. (Must be different from the piece for the regional round. Different movement or a piece from the same opus number is NOT acceptable.)

1. For OPERA COURSE, any one of Aria chosen by the contestant. (Must be different from the aria for the regional round.)

2. For LIED COURSE, any one of Lied chosen by the contestant. (Must be different from the piece for the regional round.)

Eligibility:

Section I: The 1st prize winner of each category.

Section II: The 1st prize winner of each category.

Section III: The best performer recommended by the jury.

 

Repertoire:

Piece(s) of approx. 10 mins in duration, chosen by the contestant. For Ages E & J, approx. 5 mins.

 

(Note: The same piece(s) for the Final is acceptable. The registration form for the Grand Final, Gala Concert will be handed out after the announcement of the finals' result. A shortened piece is acceptable.)
